Community Guidelines.
On Tour works because people look after each other. Here's what we ask of every musician and every host.
Be who you say you are
On Tour runs on trust. Use your real name, a clear photo of yourself, and describe your music or your home honestly.
- Keep your profile up to date
- Only list a space you actually have permission to offer
- Don't create accounts on behalf of someone else
Communicate early and clearly
Most awkward moments come from things left unsaid. Sort out the details before anyone gets in the car.
- Agree on arrival and departure times
- Be clear about how many people are travelling
- Talk through sleeping arrangements, pets, kids, smoking and parking
- Reply to messages, even when the answer is no
Respect the home and the neighbours
A host's home is not a venue with a green room. Treat it like staying with a friend.
- Keep noise reasonable, especially late at night
- Ask before bringing extra people, gear or vehicles
- Clean up after yourself and leave the space as you found it
- Follow the house rules the host has set out
Backyard shows are a shared responsibility
On Tour connects people; it doesn't run the show. Ticket money, permits, insurance, noise rules and anything else required in your local area are between the host and the musician.
Check what's allowed where you are, and give neighbours a heads-up before a show.
Cancellations happen: handle them well
Plans change on the road. What matters is letting the other person know as soon as you can, in the app, so they have time to make other arrangements.
Repeated late cancellations affect how other members see you.
Safety first, always
Trust your instincts. If something doesn't feel right, you don't have to go ahead.
- Keep conversations in the app until you're comfortable
- Tell someone you trust where you're staying or playing
- Never share bank details, passwords or copies of ID with another member
- In an emergency, call 000
What isn't welcome here
We'll remove members who bring any of this into the community:
- Harassment, discrimination or hate speech
- Threats, intimidation or violence
- Scams, spam or promotional accounts
- Misrepresenting yourself, your music or your space
- Anything illegal
Reviews should be fair
Reviews are about communication and respect: how someone was to deal with, not whether you loved their album or their spare room.
Be honest, be specific, and leave out anything personal.
Speak up
If a member makes you uncomfortable or breaks these guidelines, tell us at hello@ontourapp.com.au. We read every message, and we'd always rather hear about it than not.
