Keeping music live, one welcome at a time.
Born from lived experience
On Tour was born from lived experience.
For more than 20 years, I've opened my home to travelling musicians. My home became more than just a place to sleep — it became a place where music was shared, stories were told, ideas were exchanged, and lifelong friendships were formed. We talked about music, touring, life, business and everything in between. Some evenings turned into impromptu jam sessions, others into conversations that lasted well into the night.
In fact, this is even how I met my amazing partner.
He arrived with a friend's touring band, stayed for a few nights... and that chance visit became the beginning of our story. Today we tour together, create music together, and continue to experience the incredible generosity of this community from both sides.
Coming full circle
The same kindness I had offered to others was returned to me as my partner and I started touring together. Everything came full circle. Across Australia, people welcomed my partner and me into their homes, offered us a place to rest, shared meals, introduced us to their communities, and sometimes even opened their backyards, sheds or local venues so we could perform.
Those experiences reminded me that some of the most meaningful parts of touring don't happen on stage. They happen around kitchen tables, campfires, shared meals, laughter and the genuine connections we make along the way.
Something bigger
But I also know that touring is becoming harder. Rising accommodation costs make it difficult for many musicians to keep sharing their music, especially in regional and remote communities where live music matters so much.
So I began imagining something bigger.
What if there was one trusted community where touring musicians could connect with generous hosts? A place where hosts could offer a spare room, a campsite, or even a space for a house concert or backyard performance. A place built on kindness, respect, shared values and a love of live music.
That's how On Tour came to life.
More than an app
On Tour is more than an app.
It's a community built on hospitality, trust and connection.
It's about helping musicians travel further, reducing the cost of touring, creating meaningful experiences for hosts, and keeping live music moving from town to town.
Whether you're opening your home, opening your backyard, or packing your guitar and heading down the highway, you're part of something much bigger than a booking.
You're helping build a community where music brings people together, one stop at a time.
